1. Review the words about animals

1. A guessing game.

T: I’m thinking of an animal. What is it?

(Students ask different questions to acquire the answer they want.)

The students who get the correct answer can get a small present.

 

 

2. Introduce the monkey refers to today’s topic.

1. A rhyme

T: Let’s read a new rhyme about an animal.

(Read after me)

T: What animal is it?

S: Monkey.

 

 

3. Enjoy a movie segment about

1. T: Is a monkey a farm animal or a wild animal?

S: It’s a wild animal.

2.T: Do you like wild animals?

Let’s enjoy a movie segment.

(Students watch the movie segment)

3. What wild animals can you see?

Where do they live?

S: I see ….

  They live in the jungle.

 

 

While-task procedure

1. Practice the sentences

1. T: Please say something about the animal you like.

For example, I like fish. Fish can swim but they can’t run. They like water but they don’t like leaves. They live in the river.

(Ask 5 students to say)

Birds can/can’t …   

… like/don’t like …

2. Monkey’s adventure

T: Look, who’s coming?

( A little monkey)

T: What is he thinking of?

(请学生回答:

He’s thinking his adventure)

T: Yes, the little monkey saw the movie , too. So he is thinking his adventure.

T: Look, he’s on his friend eagle’s back. He’s flying into the jungle.

T: How is the jungle?

(请学生回答)

 

 

 

3. Meet the elephants

1.T: What does the little monkey see?

S: He sees some elephants.

2.T: Yes, how much do you know about the elephants?

Can you say something about elephants?

(学生说一些关于大象的句子)

3. T: You’re clever!

 But the little monkey wants to know more about the elephants. So he decides to call his mum.

Look! He’s taking out his cell phone.

(Read the passage what the little monkey says)

4. Please listen carefully. What does his mother saying?

(学生听录音)

4.T: How do you spell that in English?

S: ivories.

T: Quite good!

(复数单词转两转以示强调)

5. Please look at the pictures.

7. Read the passage and answer the questions

1.T: Now the little monkey gets much information about elephants. Please read it carefully then think about the questions below the passage.

(请四位学生分别回答问题)

8. Meet the giraffe

1. T: The little monkey goes on his adventure in the jungle.

( A parrot)

2: T: The parrot has a good friend. It is giraffe. The monkey wants to make friends with giraffe. So he says:

9. Learn the new story.

1.T: Suddenly, the giraffe is running away. What does she see? What happens?

Can the giraffe swim?

can the crocodile climb?

How are the monkeys?

10. Role-play reading

1. T: Now please read the passage after me, pay attention the accent. (第一遍领读)

2. T: Now group 1 is the giraffe, group 2 and three are the monkeys, and group 4 is the crocodile. ( 第二遍小组分角色读)

3. Please read the story in groups of four.(第三遍四人一小组读)

4. Ask two groups to act out this story.(请小组分角色读,强调语音语调)
