How is the music?

You know. Yesterday I went to a concert. The music there was quite nice. What did you do yesterday?

(Two students say their day use the simple past tense)

Ask: Where did Ben and Kitty go yesterday?

What did they see?

What did they hear?

Think these questions as follows when you’re listening to the tape.

1.       Which music did BenKitty like better, the loud music or the quiet music?

 

While-task procedures

1. Learn the new text< Ben likes loud music>  

1. Distrubute the listening exerises sheet before the students begin to listen to the tape.

Say: While you’re listening, you are not allowed to look at your exercise sheet. You can do it only after listening to the take. So you’d better listen carefully because you can only hear once, OK?

2. Play the tape for the text.the students listen. 

3. The students finish their sheet.

4. Feed back.

5. Read the text after the tape once.

6.Role-play reading.

 

 

 

2. Learn the new sentential form:

1. T: So, we know Ben likes loud music. Which music do you like better, loud music or quiet music?Why?

(Write the sentences on the board)

To elicit:

(Ask individual students to express their opions)

2.       T: Look at the picutre. What musical instrument did Kitty play?

S: The drum.

3.       T: Can you play the drum. What musical instrument can you play?

 

(Ask individuals to play in front of the calss.)

4:  T: Thanks for your gorgeous performance. Boys and girls, do you like their music?

(Students may say yes may say no)

(Ask the students who played the music to stand in front of the classroom)

5. T: Which musical instrument do you like better, the violin or the recorder?

S: I like ______ better.

6. T: What kinds of musical instruemnts do you know?

(Ask students to say more musical instruments they know, such as piano, triangle, et cte)

7. Show the pairs of musical instruemtns on the screen.

Ask: Which musical instruement do you like better, ________ or _________?

S: I like _________ better.

1.       T: Well, I like the guitar best. Look, I’ve got one today. There’s kind of music often compnays with the guitar.It is called country music. Next, you can hear two pieces of musci. Guess, which one is country musci.

(Play the country music and the rock music)

 

2.       T: Which one is the country music?

     The first one or the second one?

(The first one)

Introduce: country music

 

3.T: How is the country music?

   (It is quiet./soft/brisk/nice…)

4. T: Is the sceond music soft?

S: No, it’s very hard.

T: So we called it rock music.

(The students sing the songs they like)

2: Actually, Chloe like many singers. Do you want to see my idols?

(Show the stars on the screen)

T: I like S.H.E. best, because they’re very cool. Their songs sounds wonderful.

Which singer do you like best? Why?

(Ask individuals to answer the questions)

Write:

I like S.H.E. best.

 

3: Do a survey.

Which singer or pop group do you like best? Why?

(Disscuss in groups and complete the survey)

S: ______ likes F.I. R. best, because they’re cool.

 

 

4. Intergrated Practice for the two new sentencial forms.

1. T: Which kind of music do the singers sing?

S: They sing pop music.

T: Very good.

T: There’s a famous singer in China. She sings speical songs for the people. And last year she sang such songs in Vennia. So the entire world know her well. Who is she?

S: She’s Song Zu Ying.

T: Yes, let’s listen to her song.

(play the music)

T: How is her song?

S: It’s sweet. It makes me comfortable.

T: It is called Chinese folk song.

Introduce: Chinese folk song.

(read one by one, in groups)

 

T: Whose parent can sing Chinese folk song? Next time we should invite her to our class to join our party and sing for us, ok?

 

1.         T: Now, let’s enjoy another kind of music. It was composed by a famouse musican. Close your eyes and image. What do you hear? What do you see?

(play

2.         T: Now tell me. What do you hear? What do you see?

S: I see a forest. I see flowers. I can hear the birds. I can smell the flowers. I can see a little girl.

T: Yes, the name of this music is called . Alice is a little girl.

(Show the picutre of the Beethoven)

T: Do you know the musican?

S: He’s Beethoven. He’s German. He could play the piano. He was very famouse.

T: Would you want to know more about Beethoven? Please read a passage and complete the exercise by yourself.

 

(Distribute exercise sheet to each student and let them do it by themselves after reading the introduction about Beethoven.)

5. Check the answer together.

 

6 T: Except Beethoven, there were a lot of  famous musicans in the world. I asked you to collect their information, did you do that?

Would you please to introduce the musican you know for us?

(Ask two students to introduce the musicans )

   本课的教学内容为牛津英语5B Module3 Unit2.Different noises的一个主题Ben likes loud music. 对五年级学生来说,该课文内容浅显,无任何语言障碍。我班的学生好动,活泼,思维活跃,接受能力较强,对课外的知识表现出格外的兴趣,口头表达能力也比较强。根据这些实际情况,我对教学内容进行了重新整合与拓展,将课本中的语篇以听力形式完成,培养学生听的能力。并根据学生喜欢音乐的特点,Music为主题,适当拓展了pop music, classical music, rock music, country music, Chinese folk songs等关于音乐类型的词汇,以及 Which ________ do you like better, ______ or_______? I like _______better. Which ________ do you like best? I like ________ best 的句型 充实了课堂教学内容,增大了信息量,有效地提高了课堂教学效率。

在教学过程中,我结合学生的生活经历,让学生弹奏乐器,欣赏不同的音乐片段,使他们在视觉和听觉中既能感悟到音乐的美妙,培养学生的音乐素养,又在实际的情景中习得相关的英语知识,学会用英语表达对音乐的喜爱,并说出喜爱的理由。

      英语是一门实践性很强的学科,英语有一句彦语:Practice makes perfect.在教学方法上,我采用师生间,对子活动,小组调查等多种互动形式,尽可能地创造操练的机会,让学生通过自己的体验来获取知识,使学生在轻松愉悦的氛围中锻炼用英语交流以及获取信息和综合的语用能力。
